Today we got up early again and had prayer on the lawn before going to breakfast.
After rehearsing our music this morning for about two hours we had our first class of camp.  It was on music history and the eras that this history is divided into.  Three of our counselors taught us, it was really interesting.
This afternoon we had another class, this time on the liturgy.  Deacon Charles Bobertz of St. John's theology department came in to be our teacher.  His way of teaching is very interesting, and we had some really impressive and tough questions for him.  It's fun studying religion with other young people so interested in the topic.
After that we went to Mass in the School of Theology's chapel as a group.              Fr. Anthony, our chaplain, celebrated the Mass.  We choristers were helped by the staff to be the readers and also to cantor the Kyrie, responsorial psalm, and General Intercessions.   We sing most of the liturgy, including all the responses and dialogues with the priest.
After dinner and some break time for more fun at the pool we headed back to the choir room for one last rehearsal for the day.  Dr. Theimer told us that he was very impressed with the amount of work we accomplished today.
Then after singing Compline we went off to the dorms either to go to bed or to enjoy some time with each other.

A group of the guys decided they liked the big pieces that Molly was cutting rather than the smaller ones counselor Nick Pawlowski cut.

Rehearsal with prassl.jpg (38064 bytes)

Some of the choristers met to rehearse with Dr. Franz Karl Prassl, a Gregorian chant expert from Graz, Austria.  He helped us to sing Latin so as to bring the text to life.  As he speaks English his accent is even thicker than Dr. Theimer's.
